Someone who walks, who likes to explore, without a doubt who likes to wander around the mountains alone.
This is how I discovered, or better how I rediscovered them. a few years ago, I came to understand that the mountains still shook me as they did back when, as a child, I would walk among the woods and meadows of my beloved val di Scalve, near Bergamo, with my mum and uncle first, then with my friends. I found these emotions once again while visiting new places, in new ways, with new poeple and in new times. They heightned the original pleasure I got and thus the choice of peaks and valleys became broader, and so did the efforts, the risks, the fears and the joys that I experienced up there.
Thanks to a crisis, I got to know the mountain in a more mature way and i chose not to focus only on architecture anymore. Then a dark-haired girl, hailing from the sea, brought o my attention an incredible training course organized by the Lombardy region alpine guides association, a course to become a mountain guide. And here i am, making a living out of this, with passion and rewards.
It’s always easy to find me on the phone, sometimes panting, deeply immersed in everything the mountain gives me. the cold, the sun, the wind, the rain, the thirst, the hunger, the smile and the company, not only that of nature, but also of the people that walk with me. So effort, fatigue, risk and fear that I’m called upon to manage, to measure, to lower in some aspects and enhance in others, to share with the people and the mountain, both more and more dear to me.
I seldom have certainties in the mountain, but I know that without imagination, skills, intuition and a method, you can’t succeed in your profession nor in your own personal growth.
